I’ve always loved Tamia, but it seems the listening public never did. You could place her in the same category as the Ashanti’s, Christina Milian’s and Olivia’s of the world, expect she’s uber talented. Well, if you love her like I do, then you’re glad she’s got a new album and single of the same name (that’s been released), Beautiful Surprise, coming out soon. And where there’s a new album, there’s interviews.

Tamia sat down with Huffington Post to talk about the new album, her marriage to baller Grant Hill and naturally–Basketball Wives. When asked about the reality tv cash cow, Tamia had a lot of opinions. I wonder if she’s ever considered being a part of the cast? Probably not because the “So Into You” singer had a mouthful to say about her thoughts on the show. Here’s three reasons you’ll probably never see Tamia on Basketball Wives.

1. “Well, I think the perception is definitely not a reality. I think, to be fair, a lot of those women [on the show] aren’t wives.” Seeing as how Tamia actually is a wife, I doubt she’ll qualify to be in the cast.

2. Tamia doesn’t think Basketball Wives is about that life. The show gives us the wrong perception of real basketball wives. “I think that it’s definitely very misleading in terms of what our lives are about. I do have a lot of friends who are married to athletes, and a lot of these women are involved in charities, doing all kinds of things behind the scenes and are supportive wives, and — believe it or not — have supportive husbands who are really great guys.”

3. Tamia doesn’t think that it’s all about the women being shown in negative light, but the men involved as well. “I think not only for the women, but I think it just paints a really bad picture about the men as well. I think for athletes in general, people are like, “Why would you want to marry an athlete?””
