Alas, we’ve reached the end of my series on specific skin care issues – dry skin, i.e. dehydrated skin which is characterized by small pores and flakiness – a direct result of there not being enough oil secretion. Other variables like your diet and medication can play into why your skin is dry, in which case I would suggest you seeing a dermatologist for a more aggressive treatment. If you’re merely suffering from a seasonal change, then an over the counter solution may be just what you need to ease your dry skin pain.

If all you need is a burst of moisture, then the certified organic Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist ($22, juicebeauty.com) is a product you might like. It balances and tones your skin while keeping your skin feeling hydrated for up to 3 hours.  With ingredients like aloe vera and grapeseed oil, you will soon enjoy the benefits of a radiant complexion – at least for a few hours that is.

We all want a soft complexion, but Alba Sea Lettuce Cleansing Milk ($9.99, cvs.com) is designed specifically for dry, delicate skin. This soap-free cleanser contains aloe vera and jojoba which infuses your face with moisture without stripping away necessary oil.  My advice: wash your face with this product once in the morning and once in the evening to get the best results.

Tip:  Paraffin wax mask anyone? These are ideal for people with dry skin since they promote the penetration of ingredients deep into the skin. You come away from these treatments with soft and radiant skin. Click to read more.
