She will always be remembered for her inspiring acting role as Akeelah in the movie “Akeelah and the Bee”, but Keke has not hesitated to show us her passion and gift of music. In 2007 she released “So Uncool”, her debut album on the Atlantic label. She has also made appearances on the soundtrack of “Akeelah and the Bee,” ” Night Of The Museum”, and Disney Channel’s original motion movie soundtrack “Jump In! Currently, she continues are acting career, starring on “True Jackson, V.P.”, on the Nickelodeon channel.
Keke has moved into a new role as Producer, producing her music video, entitled “The One You Call.” Just like the persistence she showed in the spelling bee competition in her first movie, Keke continues to show that throughout her career she will stop at nothing to be a success. She has become a role model for young girls all over the world who aim to win at life’s “spelling bee”.
What we can expect in the future is Keke in the upcoming film: “Joyful Noise.”
