Name: Chanel Iman | Model
Age: 20
Chanel first caught the attention of fashion admirers across the world when Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue magazine, selected her as one of 10 girls to be featured on the cover of Vogue in May 2007, naming her as one of the “world’s next top models.” She was the youngest to ever grace the cover of Vogue, and now is the most successful African-American Model of her time.
Since then she has worked with top designers, top photographers, and been featured on numerous top magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar. We recently watched Chanel officially receive her wings in 2010 during her second appearance in the Victoria’s Secret Runway Show, now appearing as an “Angel” in many of their commercial campaigns. Chanel has truly become an angel for young minority girls everywhere who can see a face of color as a large symbol of beauty.
What we can expect in the future is for her to become not only the greatest African-American model, but one of the most accomplished supermodels of her time. We would love to see her get into design and entrepreneurship as well.
